Whether you have a nearly finished novel, a complete early draft or a generous collection of great writing that needs wrangling into the form of a story – a manuscript evaluation is for you.

You’re at the stage where a deliberate reader’s perspective, complete with feedback, is going to unlock the path forward. I will complete a purposeful full read through of your manuscript, provide a multi-page feedback report and enjoy an (optional) follow up voice or video call with you to discuss your work and the report afterwards.

The report will provide focused insights and specific feedback on your:

  • Story, primary and notable characters, plot, pacing, dialogue, setting, structure, voice and writing style
  • Strengths and weaknesses
  • Parts I loved and parts that jarred
  • Guidance for progressing your novel

  • Margin notes: Minimal

The manuscript evaluation is a great economical alternative to a full Developmental Edit with main difference being no in-text comments. I will, however, provide section or page references and comments to highlight important strengths, weaknesses, parts I loved and parts that jarred for me.
